What is Meditative Painting with MediPaint?
We use movement and music to help facilitate the process of meditation. The inner state of the individual is the main focus, with creation being led by intuition (there is no specific object or subject to think or paint about, besides the music). Allowing the music to take you over, negative and stressful energy can flow out, while positive, relaxing and healing energy can be brought inward.

What does a MediPaint workshop session look like?
Each workshop will start with an introduction (to meditative painting, how-to approach, tips, etc.), and then a few still minutes to breathe and reflect on what we’re feeling at the present time. As the music comes on, the painting may begin. When the music fades out, there will be few minutes for stillness to conclude the session. A variety of herbal teas will be available to assist with relaxing and calming the mind and body.
(We will be using water-based, non-toxic paints, and aprons are provided.)

What is required of me?
No experience or artistic skill is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Remember that the end-goal is not only what you’ve painted, but to reap the benefits of meditation! All that we ask is for phones to be turned off and out of eye sight, to allow for complete focus on meditation. Similar to yoga, meditative painting is not a social activity, so please respect the room and refrain from socializing during the session.
